The Summer Of Love Concert
February 16 @ 8:00 pm$32 - $39
“Relive the memories, share the spirit and celebrate the songs of the Woodstock Generation – the music that changed the world!”
GLEN BURTNIK’S SUMMER OF LOVE CONCERT, America’s only touring re-creation of the music of the Woodstock Generation, brings us the iconic music of the late 1960s, from the 1967 release of The Beatles’ revolutionary album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band through to the famous Woodstock Music and Art Festival in 1969. With a horn section, strings, keyboards, percussion, background vocals and an incredible rock rhythm section, the Summer of Love Concert recreates “note for note and absolutely live” the songs and the psychedelically flavored spirit of the Woodstock Generation. You’ll hear music from artists like The Beatles, The Turtles, The Rolling Stones, Sly and The Family Stone, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Lovin’ Spoonful, The Doors, Santana, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Jefferson Airplane, Procol Harum, and Otis Redding plus you’ll witness the incredible video projections of Marc Rubinstein’s famous Pig Light Show.
During the spring and summer of 1967, over 75,000 young people made their way to San Francisco to join a community of artists, musicians, poets, and radicals who would change the world. Called the Summer of Love, this gathering led to a movement which would influence popular culture through music and art, launch the natural and organic foods movement, and promote environmental awareness, civil rights and women’s rights.”
So, get out your bell-bottom jeans, tie-dye shirts and caftans, mini dresses, headbands and peace signs, and bring out your inner hippy, as THE SUMMER OF LOVE CONCERT recreates a moment in history where peace, love, and creative freedom inspired the “music that changed the world”.
“The Summer of Love Concert Experience was nothing short of amazing. The joy from the stage was infectious. In all my years of booking concerts, none has caused a more emphatically enthusiastic response. It was off the charts!”
